It can be a real struggle to make sure you\u2019re getting that movement in every day. But you don\u2019t have to overcomplicate things\u2026 movement doesn\u2019t have to mean a set workout or something big\u2026 even the small things count!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPursuing a fitness goal is a highly effective method for building self-esteem. The physiological benefits greatly improve overall vitality and wellbeing. Importantly, exercise can be used to teach useful skills such as resilience, consistency, and positive self-talk,\u201d says Melody Coleman, PT &amp; Life Coach. <a href=\"https:\/\/bodyprojectpt.com\/\">https:\/\/bodyprojectpt.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and they\u2019re talking all about \u2018Movement: Moving more for our <a href=\"https:\/\/wowbeauty.co\/health-and-wellbeing\/mind\/signs-that-you-need-to-take-a-mental-health-day\/\">mental health<\/a>\u2019 so we thought we\u2019d share some things you can do to get movement in every day.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_in_those_steps\"><\/span><strong>Get in those steps<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Do you know how amazing <a href=\"https:\/\/wowbeauty.co\/health-and-wellbeing\/the-surprising-benefits-of-walking\/\">walking<\/a> is for you?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou do not have to walk for hours. A brisk 10-minute\u00a0daily\u00a0walk has lots of health benefits and counts towards your\u00a0150 minutes of weekly exercise, as recommended in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/live-well\/exercise\/exercise-guidelines\/physical-activity-guidelines-for-adults-aged-19-to-64\/\">\u00a0physical activity guidelines for adults aged 19 to 64<\/a>\u201d says\u00a0nhs.uk.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wowbeauty.co\/health-and-wellbeing\/mind\/the-surprising-benefits-of-walking\/\">Walking<\/a> is incredibly beneficial\u2014it reduces tension, increases blood flow, and provides an opportunity to connect with nature if you can walk in a park <a href=\"https:\/\/wowbeauty.co\/health-and-wellbeing\/wellbeing-boosting-plants-for-your-garden\/\">or garden<\/a>. Grab a friend for extra motivation! You\u2019ll probably feel more energised for the rest of the day too.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-video fusion-youtube\" style=\"--awb-max-width:600px;--awb-max-height:360px;--awb-align-self:center;--awb-width:100%;\"><div class=\"video-shortcode\"><lite-youtube videoid=\"KG12jYKLhoQ\" class=\"landscape\" params=\"wmode=transparent&autoplay=1&amp;enablejsapi=1\" title=\"YouTube video player 1\" data-button-label=\"Play Video\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" data-thumbnail-size=\"auto\" data-no-cookie=\"on\"><\/lite-youtube><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Keep_it_light\"><\/span><strong>Keep it light<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to go into HIIT or strength workouts to feel the benefits from exercise. Start small, something that\u2019s manageable for you.<\/p>\n<p>Try some light workouts\/stretches like yoga or <a href=\"https:\/\/wowbeauty.co\/health-and-wellbeing\/5-reasons-to-love-pilates-and-start-2025-feeling-amazing\/\">Pilates<\/a>\u2026 whatever feels good for you.<\/p>\n<p>You could start your day off with some light stretches, particularly if you wake up aching, feeling full of tension. It can help set you up for the day.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Have_a_dance_party\"><\/span><strong>Have a dance party<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Find the fun in movement and have a dance party\u2026 by yourself or with others. Put on your favourite tunes and have a boogie, you\u2019ll get the endorphins flowing and have fun too!<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Use_a_chair\"><\/span><strong>Use a chair<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Chair exercises are a great way to get movement in without putting too much strain on the body. It can help to improve posture, strengthen your shoulders and more.<\/p>\n<p>These exercises can even be done while watching the TV.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-video fusion-youtube\" style=\"--awb-max-width:600px;--awb-max-height:360px;--awb-align-self:center;--awb-width:100%;\"><div class=\"video-shortcode\"><lite-youtube videoid=\"mU40WhaFGSo\" class=\"landscape\" params=\"wmode=transparent&autoplay=1&amp;enablejsapi=1\" title=\"YouTube video player 2\" data-button-label=\"Play Video\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" data-thumbnail-size=\"auto\" data-no-cookie=\"on\"><\/lite-youtube><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Take_a_break_from_sitting\"><\/span><strong>Take a break from sitting<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Office workers, you know how it is\u2026 it\u2019s easy to get sucked into your tasks and suddenly you haven\u2019t moved for hours.<\/p>\n<p>Research shows that its unhealthy to stay sitting down too long. You could set a timer to remind you to take regular breaks from your desk\u2026 stand up, walk around and stretch for a few minutes. Try going for a walk during your lunch break or after work.<\/p>\n<p>Get started today and start small\u2026 even just some simple movement can help you to feel better. Set small, achievable goals that fit into your every day life\u2026 so lets get moving!<\/p>\n<p>Need some more help?
