Dark circles under the eyes can make you appear even more tired than you are and can be a tell-tell sign of stress<\/a> too.<\/p>\n

<\/span>What causes dark circles?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

They can be caused by a lot of factors including genetics, high stress, exhaustion, environmental factors and poor diet.<\/p>\n

Dark circles are often a form of hyperpigmentation, which is often genetic and can made more prominent by things like sun exposure, smoking and poor sleep<\/a>, particularly those with Asian and African skin types.<\/p>\n

It can also be caused by thin lower eyelid skin, meaning veins show through, appearing darker. These veins can become even more prominent due to seasonal allergies, which causes dilated veins.<\/p>\n

Natural shadows, resulting from deep set eyes, can also give the appearance of dark circles.<\/p>\n

Eye strain from staring at a TV or computer street can strain your eyes, enlarging blood vessels and could potentially cause dark circles.<\/p>\n

Finally, as we age, a loss of volume \u2013 fat and collagen \u2013 under the eyes, can also contribute to dark circles.<\/p>\n
